Not every project can follow all of the PMBOK standards. Some projects can not be planned in advance, in some projects you can not firmly forecast scope + time + cost, and in others change is the rule rather than the exception. Sometimes called eXtreme project management, these may be IT projects, research and development, or ones with new approaches.
John is looking for people willing to be interviewed by his MBA students at the University of Ottawa. These interviews, not expected to last more than one hour, would ask why the project could not follow the standards, where it was successful, where not, and lessons learned.
If you are willing to be interviewed (can be by phone/com-call or possibly even e-mail) please let me know.
