Do you ever get the feeling that software developers make changes strictly for the sake of change? Microsoft completely revamped the MSProject 2010 menu system. Indeed this trend has been there since Windows 7. I would love to ask a brand new user whether or not they find the interface intuitive. Those of us used to the old one may find these major changes very confusing. Considering there are few really new features, 99% of the time we will try to use the old commands, and it is frustrating if we can not find them. Microsoft claims that commands that go together logically are on the same ribbon, but project management software has such a diverse and independent set of commands, that pigeon holing them into categories does not always work. And what I consider to be a logical association may not be what someone else considers so. Yes, you can download a program to translate the old commands to the new ones:

but it took me about 10 key clicks to find it - after someone told me it exists. Some PM's are not as computer savvy, and all PM's are very busy. So Microsoft, I think you should leave well enough alone. However archaic, I would have preferred staying with my old menus. - John Rakos, PMP
